After installing the KW suspension kit, the sporty Mercedes-AMG models benefit from KW’s popular driving characteristics, described as sporty as needed and as comfortable as possible.
For approximately 2,400 vehicles there are more over 26,000 applications of coilover suspension kits available in three different product categories: Street Comfort, Street Performance and Track Performance.
Enhanced ride and individual damper adjustment
The KW Variant 3 is a height-adjustable sports suspension made of stainless steel, which can be tuned in the driving dynamics to be either more sporty or more comfortable with its adjustable rebound and compression dampening.
Similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro and C63 AMG Black Series (C204), the KW Variant 3, which is always built to order in Germany, uses shocks that are adjustable in compression and rebound dampening.
While the suspension of the GT R Pro features 3-way adjustable shocks, we use at the KW Variant 3 like with our shocks for the C63 AMG Black Series 2-way adjustable dampers in lowspeed rebound stage and lowspeed compression stage level.
What the heck? Put it simply the rebound stage influences how the vehicle is attached to the road by the suspension. The rebound stage also helps to control the decompression of the suspension spring.

With twelve clicks, the low-speed valve of the compression stage can be manually adjusted to achieve firmer or more comfortable handling in the Mercedes-AMG CLA models. This does not affect the high-speed valves in the compression stage, which are preconfigured in production.
Even with a sporty setup, the KW multi-valve damper technology enables harmonious dampening. This is even given with rapidly increased damping impulses, such as those that occur when driving over bumps, transverse joints, and also expansion joints on freeway bridges.
This prevents the wheels from bouncing or dangerous swaying of the car body at high speeds. Adjustable in 16 clicks, the two-stage rebound valves not only influence the handling but also the body’s pitch movements, handling control and ride comfort.
The sporty AMG CLA 35, CLA 45, and CLA 45 S with their all-wheel drive gain a significant plus in driving dynamics thanks to KW technology, without having to make any compromise in driving comfort, even on uneven road surfaces.
Within the scope of the parts appraisal, the kits allow a stepless lowering of 15 – 35 millimeters on the front axle and 10 – 30 millimeters on the rear axle.
