Chris Forsberg and the Chris Forsberg Racing crew were on point and came very close to earning their sixth podium finish of the season – beaten by just one qualifying position. Although the team did not achieve this unprecedented goal, they proudly made their sixth semi-finals appearance of the season and were able to maintain a narrowed lead in the championship point standings.

Forsberg and his crew will now turn their focus towards Round 7 at Irwindale Speedway in Los Angeles County, CA as they look to claim their second Formula Drift Championship.

Event Recap – Rd. 6
Top 32 v. Juha Rintanen: The FD new comer put on a strong performance but it was not enough to beat Forsberg who earned the win.

Top 16 v. Jhonnattan Castro:  Castro drives a Nissan 370Z built and maintained by Chris Forsberg Racing, also on Hankook Ventus RS3 tires. The cars are almost identical and it has been said that Castro has a similar driving style as Forsberg – it was a close battle that had fans on their feet but in the end Chris was awarded the win, eliminating Castro – a bittersweet moment for the entire Chris Forsberg Racing team.

Top 8 v. Ryan Tuerck: Chris and Ryan Tuerck are close friends and Drift Alliance allies and they love battling each other as they know both of them will be going all out.  These Drift Alliance brothers drove hard, earning a “one more time” after the first set of runs.  On the second set of runs, Forsberg was nearly perfect and advanced into the final four.

Semi-Finals v. Frederic Aasbo: Forsberg had a clear advantage after leading the first run but a controversial lead run by Aasbo caused Forsberg to make contact and the judges decided in favor of Aasbo.

Consolation Round:  Third place is no longer decided by a head to head battle, it is awarded to the remaining driver with the highest qualifying result.  Although Forsberg qualified second, it just so happens that the first place qualifier also made it to the consolation round.  Forsberg got 4th overall, narrowly missing a sixth consecutive podium finish.
