This VW Jetta from the Wekfest in Nagoya could also be presented as a show car at the Tuning World Bodensee or the Essen Motor Show in Germany.
With the installed KW Variant 3 coilover kit, the Jetta was lowered by 65 mm on both axles. The lowering seems that extreme due to the wide body fenders, especially at the rear axle.
Of course, the exhaust system of the Jetta is from the catalytic converter on a self-built construction and they didn’t install an exhaust in “Bosozoku Style” – or should they?
If you are thinking about upgrading your car with a Variant 3, you should definitively do it. Your car will be driving absolutely awesome, and it is no surprise that this suspension is even used by factories in their performance models of different premium automotive manufacturers.
The name V3 does not mean that this coilover kit is three times as hard as a Variant 1 and is actually superficial knowledge mentioned in some forums. The Variant 3 gives the great advantage that you can adjust the damping forces independently in compression and rebound damping, and this way you get much scope for an individual setup.
Another advantage is that even at a closed compression stage when driving over corrugations in the road and cross joints, a pre-configured high speed compression valve is opened. Therefore the wheels can immerse and a damping without a loss in performance is achieved.
Of course, to achieve “full stance”, the camber was also massively corrected and therefore all anti sway bars and transverse links were replaced. It seems like the “Race Control” (Police) in Japan often turns a blind eye to it…
In everyday life, this is driving dynamically less useful and by the massive camber, the installed tires will probably not survive 10.000 km. Those who take a closer look will also realize that the fond doors were modified for the Widebody kit.
For the conversion, the body gets seriously stripped down, but these are the things that make modifying cars interesting …
For the body kit, the Japanese Tuner and customer of Hashimoto Corporation S&Company chose components from “AIPil” like spoilers and the side skirts. The Jetta was equipped with one of the first new TRA Kyoto Pandem Rocket bunny fenders.
The rims are one-piece Super+ MSP19 in 8.5 x 19 inch ET45 with Toyo Pneus in 228/30. The oatmeal painting does not appear conservative anymore by the GReddy / Trust Racing stickers.
By the way, at the WekFest Japan in Nagoya, the Jetta left the hall as the second best VW. In the above YouTube video, you could also take a look through the windows and besides the beige-colored leather equipment; there is also a takata-green painted Clubsport roll bar.
The GReddy intercooler is a universal item and the 1.8T under the hood should actually bring about 225 horse power. Maybe your car will also be presented on our KW automotive Blog.
