Two victories at Sebring 2021: Porsche’s customers win GTD-class

The Porsche 911 GT3 R from Pfaff Motorsports (starting number 9) crossed the finish line first in Sebring, 2.112 seconds before the 911 from Wright Motorsports (starting number 16), which was as well equipped with a KW suspension.

The entire podium was almost in the hands of Porsche’s customer teams, but right before the end, the Hardpoint EBM with the start number 88 got a drive-through penalty. In the end, the three drivers Katherine Legge, Bia Figueiredo, and Christina Nielsen were in fifth place in this class.

The GTD-class was firmly controlled by the Porsche 911 GT3-R customer teams for long phases of the 12-hour race on the legendary Sebring circuit.

For several hours, the two Porsche teams Pfaff Motorsports with the driver’s Lars Kern, Laurens Vanthoor, and Zacharie Robichon and Wright Motorsports with Patrick Long, Trent Hindman, and Jan Heylen took turns being in front.

In the end, Laurens Vanthoor reached the finish line first in the final sprint before Patrick Long. The fourth Porsche 911 GT3 R (99) that participated in the GT Daytona class (GTD) crossed the finish line in the tenth place with a deficit of almost 40 laps, after a lengthy phase of repair.
