Halfway through two of four championships the Wittmer brothers, Nick, Karl, Kurt and Kuno are all in position to win their respective championship battles.

Honda Ste-Rose racing is in the thick of things in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC), Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) and the Super Pro Challenge (SPC) and looking forward to a good second half to this 2016 season.

In the PWC, driver Nick Wittmer sits in second place in the driver championship with four races to go. His latest races took him to Road America, just north of Chicago where he managed a third place podium in race one.

Race two saw Nick running in third place once again when a rear hub failure early in the race forced him into the pits. The team was however to repair the damage and sent Nick back out to complete his minimum number of laps to get points and keep him in the hunt for the championship.

Mid-August will see Karl running at the famous Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres in his Honda Civic Si prepared by Lombardi Honda Racing. The last month had Karl compete at Calabogie Motorsport Park and race one was going well until an incident with another competitor knocked him out of contention with a damaged radiator. He still managed a 6th place finish. Race two of the weekend saw him running with a new but stock radiator which forced him to limit his engine revolutions to a minimum to keep the car from overheating. However the rains came early and thus this helped him to finish a well-deserved second place and his first podium of the year. Over the weekend he competed at the ICAR Complex in Mirabel. Race one saw issues with the transmission and he had to settle in with a fifth place finish. Race two saw him get hit, unintentionally by another competitor, damaging the left rear of the car and the alignment. He would struggle but brought the car home in fifth place again. Two fifth place finishes combined with a competitor not scoring points has moved Karl from fifth in the championship to fourth. His next race is in two weeks at Shannonville with a triple race program. “I would just like to thank my principal sponsor Traffic Tech for supporting me this year. The season is not even half over and we will be strong and pushing hard for the championship title”. Said Karl after his last Race.

The last month also saw the youngest Wittmer, Kurt, compete in no less than seven races at the ICAR Circuit in Mirabel in the SPC championship. There were ups and downs but all in all a very productive month with five podiums in seven races, including a win. With his win at the last race Kurt has moved into the championship lead with four races remaining in the 2016 season. “I couldn’t be happier in my rookie year. The Honda Fit prepared by Honda Ste-Rose has run flawlessly and I’m sure the remaining races will be exciting and the championship title will come down to the last race of the season”, mentioned Kurt with a huge smile after his win.

For team owner Patrik Wittmer it has been a busy season with travelling all over North America. “It’s been a lot of travelling for the team and especially Nick, but I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished this season so far. We couldn’t have done it with help from many of our racing friends including Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, Rains Racing, Steve Kohli, Honda Performance Development, KW Suspensions, Cobalt racing pads and many more committed sponsors. Hopefully we can take the title in one, two three or even four championships”, mentioned Patrik with extreme confidence.
