Over the past 20 years, Olaf Manthey and we at KW automotive have been cooperating on various motorsport and sports car projects.
It all started in 2004 with the development of a road suspension for a high-performance Manthey Motors Porsche 911 Turbo (996). Over the years, this has developed into a successful collaboration.
Olaf Manthey has been shaping the touring car and endurance racing world for over forty years. The 69-year-old thoroughbred motor sportsman has legendary status on the Nürburgring Nordschleife — and beyond.
KW Legends on YouTube: Olaf Manthey speaks about his motorsports life
On our YouTube channel, Olaf Manthey gets personal in an almost 25-minute documentary and not only looks back on his motorsport life.
Numerous companions have their say. The Manthey company founder and team boss, who has not been actively involved in day-to-day business since 2015, was an active racing driver for many years.
Starting as an independent private driver at the end of the 1970s, he later became a work driver in the DTM. He founded Manthey Racing in 1996 and moved his company from the Rhine Valley in Rheinbreitbach to the industrial park at the Nürburgring in Meuspath almost 25 years ago.
Olaf Manthey’s success story as team boss and company director has taken off in the fast lane. With a keen analytical mind and technical know-how, he established himself in touring car and endurance racing over the years – and not just on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Manthey Racing is the most successful racing team on its proverbial home track. In the VLN alone, the team has celebrated over 50 overall victories. Even at the legendary Nürburgring 24-hour race, no team is more successful.
Even in the legendary Nürburgring 24-hour race, no team is more successful. The Porsche team won in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2018, and 2021 with their yellow-green Grello Porsche, which has become an icon, much like Olaf Manthey himself.
In 2013, Manthey Racing merged with Raeder Motorsport, and Olaf Manthey found the ideal successors in brothers Martin and Nicolas Raeder to lead his company into the future.
Porsche AG also acquired a 51 percent stake in the company built by Olaf Manthey. Today, more than 300 dedicated employees continue the legacy at Manthey Racing.
