Let that sink in: 7 minutes and 41 seconds. That’s a Bridge to Gantry lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a 235-horsepower Toyota GR86.

A 26-second improvement! That’s how much faster the Raeder Motorsport GR86, equipped with a KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension kit, is than the stock car, achieving an 8:01 “sports car lap” in Sportauto’s 2/2025 issue. Driven by Sportauto editor Christian Gebhardt. This is even six seconds faster than the Lexus RC F Track Edition. Amazing!
The Raeder Motorsport GR86 was seven seconds faster than the stock Toyota GR86 at the Hockenheimring Grand Prix, achieving a lap time of 2:01 (2:00.58). For comparison, the 464 hp Lexus RC-F Track Edition clocked a 2:02.5 minutes at Hockenheim.

Raeder Motorsport turned a Toyota GR86 into a serious track tool (with road approval) in the autumn of 2024. Remarkably, the stock 235-hp, 2.4-liter boxer engine was retained. And no, the GR86 wasn’t lightened to an extreme for its Nürburgring Nordschleife run—quite the opposite.

Raeder Motorsport’s approach to track performance involves a carefully coordinated combination of upgraded brakes, suspension, wheels, and tires, strategic lightweight, and enhanced engine stability.
Alcantara cover for the series steering wheel Lighter Recaro shells instead of standard seats
The Raeder Motorsport Toyota GR86 is equipped with several performance-enhancing modifications, including an oil pan baffle plate, an engine oil cooler, a lightened flywheel, a lightweight battery, and a Milltek cat-back exhaust system.

The lightweight efforts focused on replacing the stock seats with two Recaro Pole Position shells, removing the rear seats and trunk trim, and installing a Clubsport roll bar.

All around, 17-inch alloy wheels with Dunlop Direzza 03G R3 rubbers in 235/45R17 were fitted, while the standard brake system was fitted with steel braided lines, endless pads, and a different brake fluid.

For the suspension, Raeder Motorsport, like many in the trackday community, chose our KW Clubsport suspension kit. Specifically, they opted for the threeway adjustable KW V4 Clubsport (KW 3-way Clubsport) coilover system for the Toyota GR86.

The dampers are independently adjustable for high- and low-speed compression and low-speed rebound. Raeder Motorsport expertly tailored these settings to the Toyota and its specific wheel/tire combination.

The KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension fitted to the Toyota GR86 utilizes aluminum uniball bearings at all four corners, though camber is only adjustable on the front axle. Raeder Motorsport (https://www.manthey-racing.com/raeder-motorsport) supplies the adjustable rear control arms, as well as our KW coilover suspension kits.

You can purchase the KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension from all KW specialist dealers or directly through our online shop.
