The difference between an ap coilover kit and a KW V1 coilover kit is that at KW, we manufacture the struts from stainless steel or aluminum. The struts of the ap coilover kits are made from a galvanized steel alloy.
Incidentally, we use the same black steel alloys for our ST suspensions brand and selected KW coilover kits as we do for ap Sportfahrwerke.
As with the KW V1 coilover suspension, we do not use adjustable dampers in any of our ap coilover suspensions. We also use different damper inner workings at ap.
We manufacture damper cartridges at KW Damping Technologies, S.A. in Abadiano, Spain, in the former AL-KO plant. Some time ago, we took over AL-KO’s damper division to primarily manufacture chassis components for original equipment on an industrial scale.
