When we presented our ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension kit for the first time at the “Virtual KW automotive Expo” at the end of 2020, we seemed to have captured the spirit of the times: so much suspension for comparatively little money. Now, the ST XTA plus 3, including parts certificate, is available for all BMW 3 Series (E9x) with rear-wheel drive—i.e., E90, E91, E92, and E93!

The special feature of the ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension kit is similar to the well-known KW V4 and KW V4 Clubsport coilover kits. It can be adjusted independently in the three driving dynamics parameters: high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and low-speed rebound. This gives you even more leeway to refine the vehicle-specific and always preset setup further.

This is what the XTA plus 3 compression valves, which are adjustable in the high-speed and low-speed compression stages, look like.

If you don’t need something like this, you’re probably forgetting that manually adjustable dampers offer much more scope for perfect damping thanks to their valve technology alone. The adjustable interplay of high-speed and low-speed compression valves, the two-stage rebound valves, and the damper design can create a damper characteristic that leaves little to be desired.

It features linear racing springs, aluminum Unibal bearings, and a slightly stiffer design for enhanced performance. The ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension elevates the driving dynamics of all BMW 3 Series models (E90 Sedan, E91 Touring, E92 Coupe, and E93 Convertible). The ST XTA plus 3 delivers noticeably sharper steering for the BMW M3 (E90, E92, E93) thanks to its sportier rebound settings and Unibal top mounts. Even everyday 318i drivers will experience a significant improvement in steering responsiveness, making their familiar BMW 3 Series feel more agile and connected. Additionally, the low-speed rebound damping is adjustable within a range of 0 to 16 clicks for further fine-tuning.

As with the ST XTA, the ST XTA plus 3 also comes with unibal bearings as standard

As the ST XTA plus 3 is a coilover suspension, you can use it to continuously lower your BMW 3 Series — within the limits of the parts certificate.

While the BMW E90, E91, and E93 with rear-wheel drive can be lowered from 30 to 60 millimeters on both axles with the ST coilover suspension, the approved lowering range for the BMW E92 is 20 to 50 millimeters.

The BMW M3 models (E90, E92, E93), already lowered ex-works, can be lowered by between 10 and 40 millimeters at the front and rear with the ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspensions.
