As the perfect start to the 2017 VW Show season, the Ultimate Dubs show in Telford, UK is hard to beat. 20,000 enthusiasts, a truly great vibe – and the chance to get a ‘first look’ at this year’s new show cars.
Naturally, KW suspensions and ST suspension was there in force with our latest cars and products. As our tenth year supporting the show, we thought we had better go ‘all out’ for 2017!
Ultimate Dubs differs from other shows in its format, offering a ‘preview’ evening on the Saturday night before the main event, allowing people to wander amongst the traders and exhibits and get a good look at what’s on offer.
We were displaying our full KW and ST ranges alongside our popular new DZX spacers. Although this show is always a hit with the stance market – clearly evidenced by the amount cars making their way into the halls, there are also a huge amount of performance and handling enthusiasts that make their way to these hallowed halls.
So, for those guys, we made sure we put on a decent showing! It’s hard to say which was the true star of our stand, but for many, our 2010 911 Turbo S, with factory Aero kit has to be up there.
This stunning car runs our new DDC plug and play coilovers with HLS4 kit integrating with the Porsche PASM and offering handling perfection with the ability to traverse speedbumps and ramps at will. Augmented with OZ rims and Falken tyres, and our new DZX spacers, (10mm front and 15mm, if you’re wondering!) this thing looked like it was doing 100mph even parked up.
The latest Golf Clubsport may be a truly rare car, but we just happened to have TWO(!!) on our stand, with one of them being the ‘Unicorn-spec’ S model owned by our friends at Milltek Sport.
The white Golf was running the first set of our clever new adjustable spring kit. This uses the OEM damper and an adjustable seat to give height adjustment with OEM ride quality, and vastly improved handling. Keep an eye on our news section for more on that in the coming weeks!
A car this good needs only subtle improvements, so 12.5mm DZX spacers all round, with our smart black bolts and lockers for a factory fresh look, combined with the subtle upgrade of a pair of Tarox front discs.
Look out for this car at the GTI International show, where we will have also added a set of our Clubsport 3-ways units to it!
Clubsport 3-ways are already fitted to the red Milltek car, along with their superb titanium exhaust system – and a plethora of trick Superpro bushes and Supaloy arms. We can’t say too much about what’s in store for this car later in the year just yet, but we think you’ll be impressed with what Milltek have up their sleeves for it.
The black Audi RS3 is always a hit, wherever we have it on our stand. Running OZ wheels, our DDC ECU set-up, a Scorpion cat-back exhaust system and MTM tuning box, it’s a shame to leave it parked up! Still, it’s quite the eyeful, even just sitting there.
As the ultimate track toy, a lot of people were asking questions about our superb Audi S1. This thing was designed with a very singular purpose; to decimate all on the track! What a spec on this one!
OZ wheels and Dunlop Direzzas, Tarox discs and pads all rounds, with a bespoke Cobra motorsport interior (and helmet bag) with a Wiechers bolt-in half cage, Cobra harnesses, a Scorpion exhaust system with downpipe, HEL lines and a full APR remap! Good for 320bhp, we can’t wait to get to some of the motive shows later in the year.
As for the rest of the show cars, the standard was off the charts. A superb mix of air and water cooled was on show, all executed to an exceptionally high standard. If this is a taste of things to come for the 2017 UK show season, we’re excited already!
