FIA WEC: Successful Title Defense in LMGT3 – Manthey Wins Again

FIA WEC LMGT3 Champion Manthey

The new champion is the old champion from Meuspath. Congratulations! Riccardo Pera, Richard Lietz, and Ryan Hardwick won the LMGT3 drivers’ championship with the “Manthey 1st Phorm Porsche 911 GT3 R” carrying the #92. The team also secured the LMGT3 team championship.

The championship team remains undefeated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as in both the team and drivers’ championships, successfully defending the FIA Endurance Trophy. This is a real feat, as competition in the LMGT3 class, introduced in 2024, is incredibly fierce. Yet many in the WEC (World Endurance Championship) only focus on the Hypercars – the LMDh prototypes.

With 4th place in Bahrain Manthey 1st Phorm wins the FIA WEC LMGT3 Championship

Across the eight races of this year’s championship, Manthey 1st Phorm celebrated two podium finishes in the highly competitive LMGT3 class with victories at Imola and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Heading into the finale last weekend in Bahrain, Riccardo Pera, Richard Lietz, and Ryan Hardwick arrived with 105 points.

A difficult qualifying session and the 17th starting position made the battle for the LMGT3 title at the Persian Gulf exciting once again. Over the eight-hour race distance, the LMGT3 911 equipped with KW V6 Racing suspension climbed 13 positions. In the end, fourth place in the LMGT3 classification was enough for the driver trio in the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#92) to bring the world championship back to Meuspath once more.

Since 2024 LMGT3 race cars are part of the FIA WEC

In 2025, the LMGT3 field comprised 24 high-caliber LMGT3 sports cars based on GT3 race cars from manufacturers Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche.
