Torque instead of revs (rotational speed), perfectly describes the current Porsche 911 Carrera S. And if the KW Performance Partner mcchip-dkr takes care of it, the Carrera S pushes with 485 hp and 585 Nm.
Besides a Carpisto flap exhaust system with sport catalysts, mcchip-dkr has also ensured a PDK-transmission optimization. The maximum speed is increased, the kickdown deactivated and the shift times are then just as short as at the 911 Turbo and GT3 (991).
When it comes to the suspension kit, our performance partner relies on the combination of the series suspension with PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control) and KW thread springs (KW height adjustable springs). For those who do not know our KW thread springs yet, we will explain it to you.
Similar to a coilover suspension, our springs allow an adjustable lowering to be able to change the lowering on request at any time. So for example it is possible to adjust the lowering to 35 mm and after changing the wheel-tire combination, select a different height level. With conventional lowering springs, this would not be possible.
By working closely with various Porsche Motorsport teams and Porsche tuner, the KW springs are perfectly designed in their spring rate for the driving dynamics of the Carrera.
When changing to height-adjustable KW springs, the Porsche dust protection elements –bump stops, spring plates and springs are dismantled and replaced by the accurately fitting KW components. The in the delivery content included KW dust protection elements and bump stops are always adjusted to the maximum lowering. So with the adjustable KW springs, a sporty harmonious driving behavior can be realized without that the driving dynamics of the Carrara suffers.
With the height-adjustable spring kit, a continuous lowering within the range of 15 – 35 mm is possible. Drivers who wish to get an even more uncompromising driving dynamics for their GTS and a maximum lowering, will find the ideal alternative in our coilovers that are adjustable in the damper characteristics.
KW coilover kits also available
Manufactured from stainless steel and partially from aluminum, the KW coilovers are available for numerous Porsche 911 models of the series 991 and in different versions like for example with the adaptive KW DDC damper technology with optional adjustment of the damping forces via smart phone.
Alternatively, also the KW coilover suspension Variant 3 is available with independently in compression and rebound manually adjustable dampers.
For all track day fans we have developed the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover suspension that ensures short lap times not only on the race track (see the German magazine Auto Bild sportscars 5/2016), but also convince on the street. The Auto Bild sportscars test summarized in a few words: “Sensational KW suspension: a power on the track, still comfortable in everyday life.”
The coilovers that were tested on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the KW 7post rig offer numerous setup options and further increase the driving dynamics of every Porsche 911.
Everyone who relies on a KW coilover suspension in his Porsche, will not only receive numerous safety reserves and an increase in performance, but can also select a continuous lowering of up to 50 mm in the 991. Of course, the KW coilovers are also compatible with the active Porsche roll stabilization (PDCC).
