Great synergies: Reiger Suspension, located in the Netherlands, becomes part of the KW automotive group

On January 1, 2021, Reiger Suspension will become a brand of the KW automotive group. With this new addition, we are further extending our wide range of suspension products.

Similar to KW automotive, Reiger Suspension has modern machinery at its own facilities.

Specializing in top-notch off-road motorsport suspension applications, Reiger Suspension will continue to manufacture off-road suspension components at its facility in the Netherlands. The Reiger Suspension brand is slated to launch in North America in late 2021.

Tremendous achievements are happening at the KW headquarters in Germany right now. Our expanded built-to-order production capacity together with automated warehouses, brand new high-performance Gebhardt conveyor technology and modern assembly lines are having a big impact on our daily workflow. But it gets even better! Our KW family is growing, and with the acquisition of Reiger Suspension, we will create great opportunities.

The Reiger facility will remain in Hengelo, Netherlands.

Home of the suspension manufacturer, Reiger Suspension, is the city of Hengelo in the Netherlands. For decades, outstanding off-road motorsport suspensions have been created in Hengelo under the leadership of Reiger founder, Gerard Seeing. This will remain so in the future.

Over a long period of time, Gerard Seesing and his wife, Anja, discussed securing their life’s legacy for the future; however, their children had other plans. So, the Reiger family is delighted to have found the ideal partners in KW automotive founder Klaus Wohlfarth and his brother Jürgen Wohlfarth.

As widely known, KW automotive is also an owner-managed company. Our own high standards for ourselves and our products will harmonize perfectly with Gerard Seesing’s product philosophy.

With our innovative valve technologies, electronic damper control systems, tuning processes, flexible manufacturing structure, engineering services and unsurpassed experience, KW is a comprehensive source. We now enhance this expertise with the experience of Gerard Seesing and his staff in the motorsport off-road sector.

New KW Family Member: Reiger Suspension

Nearly 70 employees make up the Reiger Suspension team.

We welcome Reiger Suspension founder Gerard Seesing and his outstanding team as our new KW family members. The nearly 70 new colleagues will continue to focus on their core business from the Netherlands.

Gerard Seesing, who remains on the team as a KW family member, works with Reiger team members to develop and manufacture high-quality off-road suspensions, off-road dampers, and other highly regarded products for Reiger’s international motorsport customers.

There are so many similarities between Reiger Suspension and KW automotive that the synergy is clear and the benefits are exponential.

Our R&D engineers in Germany are already working with their new R&D colleagues in the Netherlands. We look forward to seeing what new chassis platforms and products will be created for our now expanded customer base.

We can expand our multi-brand strategy with the brands KW suspensions, ST suspensions, Belltech, ap Sportfahrwerke, and now also with Reiger Suspension.

However, the off-road market is not an unknown territory for us at KW automotive. In the United States, we sell off-road products through our Belltech brand. Also, we developed and manufactured the OE suspension for the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 for our industrial customers.

Regardless of whether on the circuit with GT3 race cars or in rally races such as the Dakar – high-quality suspension technology has a major influence on performance, safety and reliability.

For example, our KW Competition motorsport customers won the Nürburgring 24-hour race, Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race, and the ADAC GT Masters Championship in 2020.

Reiger motorsport customers have also dominated the Dakar Rally for years.

For our KW Motorsport colleagues the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring is one of the most important races in the season, while the Dakar Rally is one of the most important motorsport events for our new family members. Reiger customers have won the Dakar Rally dozens of times, most recently in 2020.

Some of the greatest successes of the Reiger Suspension factory customer teams include winning the Dakar Rally several times.

On the first weekend of January 2021, the Reiger Suspension off-road dampers will once again be able to show what they can accomplish – and the entire KW family will be thrilled to be part of the action.
