For nearly 20 years, our KW suspensions brand has offered Hydraulic Lift Systems (KW HLS) in its product range. We provide these lift systems as retrofit solutions for selected factory suspensions, selected coilover kits, or as a complete package including KW V3, KW V4, or KW V5 coilovers.

Our KW Hydraulic Lift System Evolution (HLS) is more compact and lighter than before. It is currently available for selected vehicles both as a retrofit kit for the factory suspension and for KW coilover suspensions. The Evolution version (also known as the EVO kit) uses a more compact and lighter pump.

Just by switching to the new pump, we were able to save over 50 percent in weight compared to the previous KW HLS kit. Depending on the hydraulic reservoir, the hydraulic unit now weighs only between 1.66 and 2.13 kilograms. We have also significantly reduced power consumption and current draw.

In addition to the new pump, we use new solenoid valves. We have also replaced the hydraulic lines with Kevlar lines featuring quick-connect fittings.
KW HLS – The Hydraulic Lift System from KW is more compact than retrofit air suspension

Compared to air suspension systems with air springs, the KW HLS requires much less space and can be installed discreetly in the vehicle. The hydraulic unit with reservoir is smaller than a typical starter battery in a compact car.

Compared to air suspension applications, the KW HLS Evolution (and the well-known standard HLS) has a clear driving dynamics advantage: the included KW springs are specifically tuned to the respective vehicle. Whether the system is raised or lowered, there is no change in ride comfort or handling characteristics.

Within four seconds, the lift cylinders on the front struts of the HLS 2 Evolution can raise the front of the car by up to 45 mm. When all four struts are equipped with lift cylinders (HLS 4), the entire vehicle can be raised on both axles in six to eight seconds.
The added ground clearance allows sports cars and supercars with carbon lips, underbody panels, and low diffusers to clear steep parking garage ramps without damage. The system can also be activated while driving at speeds of up to 80 km/h. Once the speed bump or obstacle is cleared and the car accelerates again, the system automatically lowers at around 65 km/h.

We also offer optional “Individual Kits” without vehicle-specific springs. However, it is important to check in advance whether the vehicle is suitable for this retrofit.
