Our KW Racing customers once again enjoyed a successful motorsport weekend in the DTM. This time the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters visited Oschersleben for rounds nine and ten of the championship.
More than 55,000 spectators attended the event in the Magdeburg Börde and witnessed Thomas Preining’s victory in the Manthey Grello (#91, Porsche 911 GT3 R) on Saturday and Mirko Bortolotti’s win in the TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#63) on Sunday.
Manthey driver Thomas Preining dominates from the start
Starting from pole position, the 2023 DTM champion controlled the race from the outset in his Porsche 911 GT3 R (#91). His mandatory pit stop also went smoothly: Preining came in on lap 21 while still leading and returned to the track in first place.
Thomas Preining then drove unchallenged to victory at Oschersleben and collected valuable championship points.
Luca Engstler of Red Bull Team Abt finished second, 1.601 seconds behind the Manthey Porsche (#91), in the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#130).
Earlier in the race Luca Engstler had overtaken the Mercedes-AMG that had been running second and then set off in pursuit of the leading Porsche 911 GT3 R (#91).
In addition to first and second place, several other KW Racing customers recorded top-ten finishes.
Mirko Bortolotti crossed the line fifth on Saturday in the TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#63).
Kelvin van der Linde finished seventh in the Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#3), while Ricardo Feller brought the second Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R (#90) home in tenth.
First DTM Victory for the Lamborghini Temerario GT3
Sunday began much like Saturday. Thomas Preining again claimed pole position at Oschersleben in the Manthey Porsche (#91). In the Grello he confidently controlled the field and defended his lead.
Behind the Porsche (#91), Luca Engstler slotted into second place in the Red Bull Team Abt Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#130). At that stage Mirko Bortolotti in the TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#63) was still running sixth.
That changed during the mandatory pit-stop cycle. Bortolotti (#63) stayed out longest, pitted for fresh tyres and rejoined the race in second place, directly behind Preining’s Grello (#91).
The race was decided during the second pit-stop sequence. The Manthey Porsche (#91) lost its advantage over the chasing pack, allowing its rivals to rejoin the circuit ahead of it.
The biggest gain was made by Mirko Bortolotti in the TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini (#63), who moved into the lead. He successfully defended the position to the chequered flag and, with his victory at Oschersleben, secured the first win for the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in the 2026 DTM season.
Thomas Preining finished third in the Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R (#91). He held off repeated attacks from Marco Wittmann in the Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#11), who came home fourth.
Further top-ten results for KW Racing customers included Luca Engstler, who finished fifth in the Red Bull Team Abt Lamborghini Temerario GT3 (#130).
Kelvin van der Linde added another top-ten finish for BMW by taking seventh in the second Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#3).
Ricardo Feller completed the top ten for the KW-equipped cars by finishing eighth in the second Porsche 911 GT3 R (#90).
With two podium finishes at Oschersleben, Thomas Preining collected important championship points and injected further excitement into the title fight.
The entire weekend was also a success for our motorsport customer Lamborghini. The new Temerario GT3 has only been racing since the start of the 2026 season and has become progressively more competitive as the year has gone on.
While the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, BMW M4 GT3 Evo and Porsche 911 GT3 R are homologated with the five-way adjustable KW V6 Racing damper, the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 is equipped with the six-way adjustable KW V7 Racing damper.
