Theory meets hands-on driving fun, which perfectly sums up our event in the Teutoburg Forest. True to the motto “Experience KW,” we invited our KW specialist retail partners to the very first KW Trackday & Track Performance Training at Bilster Berg driving resort at the end of June 2025.

The focus was on practical instruction in essential vehicle dynamics and how different suspension settings directly affect driving dynamics and handling. After all, KW doesn’t offer just any coilovers; we have the perfect suspension for every demand.

Over the past decades, we’ve developed numerous suspension technologies and become the leader in our market segment. Today, many small-series manufacturers and even the automotive industry rely on our racing dampers and coilovers for their customer motorsport programs and selected special models. Click on the References and Project Cars menu in the blog, and you will find some of our interesting special OE projects.

But even the best suspension is only as good as the specialist dealer and installer who knows and understands it. An essential aspect is also that our dealers can pass on this knowledge.

That’s why we organize various training sessions for our partners. One of the many training modules is the KW Trackday & Track Performance Training at Bilster Berg.
While Sunday served as the arrival day for our dealers and they were able to exchange ideas during a relaxed get-together in the evening, Monday was when things got serious.

The event was entirely focused on our Clubsport and Racing suspension applications. KW Motorsport Director Thomas Rechenberg explained the various technologies used in our Track Performance product line.

There were also practical tips, like how to read tires, set up dampers, and understand suspension, damping, compression, rebound, toe, camber, and more, so these topics are no longer a mystery.

In addition to KW specialist dealers, many KW industrial customers and service partners also took part in the hands-on training at Bilster Berg. Colleagues from KW Benelux and KW Switzerland attended with their dealers, including ATT Automotive, Black Sheep Automotive, BR Performance, CCL Car Competence Leutenstorfer, Cult Werk, Flat 6 Factory, HWA, JP Performance, and KE Performance.

Also present were Manthey, Michelin, Pagid, Raeder Motorsport, Raab Motorsport, Race Box, Racing Fever, RC Service, Ruf Automobile, Saker Sportscars, Schültke Automotive, SN Exclusive, Special Concepts, Sportgarage Fischer, TK Engineering, Versus Performance, Zeta Speed, and many more.

Our long-time Trackday partner and organizer, Jochen Eiberger, and his team from Schnelle Schwaben (https://schnelleschwaben.de/) supported us on-site at the Trackday.

After all the theory, it was time to hit the track with around 90 vehicles – divided into race cars, street-legal track tools, and sports cars. The modern Bilster Berg circuit is truly something special: 19 corners, gradients of up to 26%, inclines of up to 21%, all packed into just 4.2 kilometers. Holy mother of torque, what more could you want?

Of course, the aim was to find the ideal racing line and refine both the driver’s skills and the suspension, so that the proverbial ups and downs of the racetrack in the Teutoburg Forest could be tackled even faster. Our colleague Tim Heinemann, KW Brand and Sales Manager Track Performance, demonstrated just how fast you can be at Bilster Berg with our Audi TT SP3T race car equipped with KW Racing suspension.

On an open track, Tim Heinemann set an unofficial class record lap time of 1:42.799 minutes on the asphalt of Bilster Berg. Since no official timekeeping was conducted, this lap time doesn’t appear on the leaderboard – but perhaps we’ll attempt an official run with Tim in 2026. After all, our KW Trackday & Track Performance Training was a huge success, and we’ll be back.
We have now published several short interviews in German with our partners on our social media channels, and we’ve embedded them for you again below.
