We are currently expanding our range of KW V5 coilovers for high-performance sports cars and super sports cars. The KW V5 coilover suspension with its solid piston dampers is already available for the Ferrari F8 Tributo and Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Now it has also been released for the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
The KW V5 coilover suspension further reduces the Ferrari 812 Superfast’s low center of gravity by up to 30 millimetres on each axle. Based on the solid-piston principle the shocks respond sensitively even with short spring travel. The solid-piston dampers provide independent adjustment of high-speed and low-speed compression and rebound damping, ensuring optimal performance across various driving conditions.
Engineered specifically for standard-lift Ferrari 812 Superfast models, the KW V5 coilover suspension is constructed from a lightweight, high-strength aluminum alloy.
The special thing about the KW V5 is, that we have designed the suspension according to neither the common single-tube nor the twin-tube damper design. For the 812, we use a three-tube solid piston shock design with internal gas volume. Unlike traditional shock absorbers, the V5 eliminates the need for a overflow piston. This innovative approach was born in motorsports and allows precise control of hydraulic fluid flow through modular, flow-optimized valves outside of the working piston.
At low gas pressure, this system generates significantly higher damping forces and enables a wider characteristic curve field than conventional dampers. This also benefits the design of the spring rates. The chassis responds more sensitively and even increases the excellent road holding of the Ferrari 812 Superfast with its steering rear axle.
The KW V5 extends the limit range, the handling more direct, and despite a maximum lowering, the rolling comfort remains at a surprisingly high level. On undulating roads, the Ferrari with the KW V5 suspension deflects in a balanced manner, and the 812 is also less sensitive to load changes.
The ergonomically shaped adjustment wheels allow the valves for high-speed compression, high-speed rebound, low-speed compression and low-speed rebound to be tuned separately with 13 clicks each. In chassis tuning, the terms high-speed and low-speed mean the slow and fast piston rod movements in the damper.
A setup manual is always part of the delievery of every KW coilover suspension kit. With just a few simple steps, a sports tuning can also be set without tools. The compression damping has an influence on the support of the body and compression, while handling and rebound are significantly influenced by the rebound damping.
High-speed damping forces are generated when the suspension is subjected to rapid compressions and extensions, such as when driving over uneven surfaces or road imperfections. Low-speed damping forces come into play during slower, more controlled movements, such as acceleration, braking, and steering inputs.
The KW V5 coilover suspension kit is available for all Ferrari 812 Superfast with a lift system as standard. As part of the parts certificate, a stepless lowering of 15 to 30 millimetres is possible on the front axle and 10 to 30 millimetres on the drive axle.
The cancellation kit simply disables the electronic damper adjustment of the standard suspension, leaving all other driving dynamics modes intact. The KW V5 coilover suspension for the Ferrari 812 Superfast is now available. Find an installation partner near you using our dealer search on our homepage.
