KW Variant 3 coilover kit now available for all Hyundai i30N Fastback and i30N

For all Hyundai i30 N, i30 N Performance, i30 Fastback N and i30 Fastback N Performance we developed our KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit.

The adjustable dampers that can be separately adjusted in compression and rebound stages, improve the handling, and driving pleasure in everyday life for the up to 275 hp strong sporty compact models from Hyundai.

The big advantage of the KW Variant 3 compared to other aftermarket coilover suspensions built for road use, are the two-stage and individually adjustable KW compression and KW rebound damper valves in addition to the stainless-steel struts. They enable a sporty as necessary and as comfortable as possible setup out of the box.

Many of our customers are surprised at how overly ambitious sporty some standard suspensions are designed for daily life and how a KW Variant 3, despite its maximum lowering, improved traction, and handling, shows a much more harmonic driving behavior.

The KW Variant 3 on the Hyundai i30 N, i30 N Performance, i30 Fastback N, and i30 Fastback N Performance allow a maximum lowering of 20 – 40 millimeter.

In addition to the improved driving dynamics and sporty ride comfort, the KW coilover suspensions are particularly appreciated for their high-quality workmanship.

More adjustment options for driving dynamics and driving comfort as with adaptive OEM shocks

In the case of high and vertical wheel accelerations, the high-speed valves in the Variant 3 opens and the wheels can spring in when crossing transverse joints on bridges or bumps. As a result, the i30 N Fastback and i30 N drive are more harmonious with our technology than with conventional dampers. This can best be explained by the fact that the high-speed valve only opens at certain system pressure. If the i30 N is driven over a bump on a poorly developed side road, the wheel would normally try to dive in and would not be able to do this due to a too sporty suspension design. In the worst case, a wheel can even lose contact with the road.

Hyundai-i30-N drivers who want even more driving dynamics or driving comfort can optionally adjust the dampers separately in the low-speed range of the compression and rebound stages with the Variant 3.

The two-stage patented TVR-A technology of the rebound stage enables the low volume flows to flow through an adjustable conical low-speed bypass at slow damper speeds and opens the main rebound stage valve for the large volume flows at higher piston speeds.

This results in a significant increase in driving comfort without affecting the high-speed in the safety-relevant area. The low-speed bypass channel can be opened or closed in 16 click steps to make the Hyundai’s handling more comfortable or tighter. The high-speed rebound range is predefined in the factory and cannot be further adjusted.

The situation is like compression damping. The low-speed forces can also be adjusted here. The adjustable cross-section of the pressure stage valve can be opened or closed with twelve exact clicks to achieve more or less compression stage damping.

At high damper piston speeds, such as the above-mentioned overrun of bumps or uneven road surfaces, the spring-loaded needle pressure stage valve opens its maximum valve cross-section together with the spring-loaded main valve to prevent unwanted progressive force increases in the high-speed range with its blow-off characteristic.

This makes it possible to better support the vehicle body and at the same time offer more comfort at high wheel accelerations than with conventional valve technology without TVC-A damper valve technology.
