Since the introduction of the first Porsche 911 GT3 RS (996), the “Porsche RennSportwagen” has been the benchmark of a Porsche 911 for the road. At the end of November 2024, Porsche introduced the new Manthey kit for the current 911 GT3 RS (992), which simply makes the RS even more RS. At the heart of the Manthey kit is an aerodynamics package developed in collaboration with Porsche.
The extensive modifications include a completely revised front splitter with Gurney flaps, a redesigned front lip with sprung carbon struts, a flow-optimized underbody, a rear diffuser with carbon fins, and a two-piece DRS wing made of carbon.
In addition, the rear window is replaced by a carbon insert with Shark-Fin, and the roof is equipped with additional fins to optimize airflow further. The carbon aerodiscs for the lightweight forged wheels on the rear axle are also integral parts.
At a speed of 285 km/h, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the revised aerodynamic dress produced by the Manthey kit generates a downforce of over 1,000 kilograms! In medium-speed and fast corners, this significantly increases speed in combination with the Manthey suspension.
The semi-active Manthey coilover suspension kit features unibal top mounts and two separately adjustable compression and rebound valves. Four wheel and three body acceleration sensors, as well as a newly developed high-performance control unit, evaluate vertical wheel acceleration, body and roll tendency, pitch, steering angle, and vehicle speed up to 1000 times per second. The suspension control unit regulates the valves in real time to ensure the perfect suspension setup in every situation.
Depending on the mode (Normal, Sport, Track), different parameter sets are available for different damper basic settings. In Track mode, the basic setup can also be individually adjusted via the rotary controls on the steering wheel. The dampers are built according to the solid-piston principle, which we also use in our KW V5, KW V5 Clubsport, KW V5 Racing, and KW V6 Racing dampers and coilovers; there are two electronic proportional valves in the Manthey coilover suspension kit.
The Manthey kit also includes the steel-coated brake lines. The pads are also optionally available for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS with ceramic brake system. The Manthey pads are characterized by their optimization for track days and their excellent performance on the road. Another advantage is that the brake discs brake pads wear less.
The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS can be ordered now. It will be available in EU markets from January 2025 and outside the EU from March 2025 at a price starting at 76,911 euros plus country-specific VAT and installation in Porsche Centres. The 911 GT3 RS’s factory warranty remains in full.
In addition to the core performance upgrades, the Manthey kit offers a variety of customization options. These include illuminated carbon door sill guards and LED door projectors with Manthey logos, as well as the ability to personalize the carbon aero discs with different colored foils.
