The seventh-generation Nissan Fairlady Z/Nissan Z will be exclusively available in Japan, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. Despite this, we have developed a coilover suspension for this Japanese sports car, which can be registered in Germany through individual approval for imported Nissan Z models.

The ST XTA coilover suspension features aluminum unibal top mounts on the front axle, a two-stage racing spring system, and dampers with adjustable low-speed rebound damping. It can be ordered directly from KW automotive or through specialized retailers.

However, if more and more enthusiasts import the Nissan Z to Germany, obtaining a parts certificate would be easy. After all, we even offer an ST coilover suspension with a parts certificate for the Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R, a car that has yet to be officially sold in Europe!

As tourist drives and track days with production-based sports and compact cars grow in popularity, we are increasingly catering to this community with our track-ready ST XTA. Outside of Europe, the Nissan Z, with its 406-426 horsepower range, is a popular choice for track day enthusiasts.

Compared to other aftermarket suspensions, the ST XTA, with its adjustable dampers and two-piece racing suspension system, offers an ideal balance of performance and value. It significantly enhances the Nissan’s grip, both on the track and on the road, making it more eager to tackle fast corners.

The front axle struts feature unibal-bearing strut mounts to enhance cornering speeds further. The dampers offer more than just a single hardness setting, with a two-stage adjustable rebound damping system.

For example, at low piston rod speeds (steering, braking, acceleration), hydraulic flow passes through a 16-click adjustable low-speed bypass valve. At higher speeds, a spring-loaded high-speed rebound valve opens. This design allows the XTA coilover suspension to significantly improve the Nissan Z’s ride comfort without compromising handling, depending on the setting.

Depending on the setting, the sports car equipped with the XTA coilover suspension offers significantly improved steering precision and razor-sharp handling on all roads. The suspension can be lowered between 15 – 35 millimeters at the front and 0 – 25 millimeters at the rear.

Front axle height is adjusted directly on the coilover strut. For the Nissan Z’s multi-link rear axle, lowering adjustment is made via the ST rear axle height spring adjuster.

Although ST Suspensions was founded in California (USA) in 1979, it has been part of the KW group since 2005. Since then, the company has focused solely on coilover suspension systems, all of which are manufactured in Germany by KW automotive. Notably, like KW suspensions, ST coilovers are always made to order.

Since the Nissan Z is not officially available in Europe, the ST XTA coilover suspension for this vehicle does not have a parts certificate. However, enthusiasts who import the Nissan Z to Germany can still register the coilover suspension through an individual vehicle approval process.
