Pole-setter Ayhancan Güven in the #911 defended his lead for the first 40 minutes of the race. As the race progressed, the Porsche 911 GT3 R slipped back slightly. The Manthey-Grello car was overtaken once by the Scherer Audi (#15) and once by a Falken Porsche (#3).

Throughout the race, Grello always pitted about one lap later than the competition, which meant that the Porsche had to stay in the pits for less time than the GetSpeed-AMG, which was leading at the time, during its final pit stop. With around 40 minutes to go, the Manthey EMA 911 with Thomas Preining at the wheel returned to the track in the lead and, after 29 laps, crossed the finish line in first place with a lead of 11.163 seconds.
