Chris Greenhouse completely dominated the 2WD field at Sandblast Rally 2015 in Cheraw, SC, USA. He, along with codriver Ryan Scott, won the class by over 7 minutes in their with KW Competition Rallye suspension equipped Dodge Neon SRT4. But the Weasel RallySport team also managed to finish the event in an astonishing 2nd place overall in an event with a record-breaking number of entries.

Chris was elated at the team’s performance as he sought redemption for a poor finish at the 2014 event. “We came here to South Carolina looking for redemption, and I think we found it! The road conditions made for more difficult driving than last year. Conditions were wetter and softer than expected with a lot of deep ruts, it was like driving through cheddar cheese in places. But our car setup was quite good, and we made no mistakes all day. Special thanks go out to Iron Eagle Graphics for their last-minute assistance to us at the event.”

For codriver Ryan Scott, this was the second of back-to-back stellar performances as he had just come off of a brilliant effort with driver Justin Pritchard at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood the week prior. Justin and Ryan were the third-fastest team of the rally in treacherous conditions with snow and ice covering the stages in Missouri.

Chris also spoke of his overall result at Sandblast Rally, which was the highest ever overall finish of his career. “Our goal was to focus solely on winning 2WD, and we had no other goals with regards to overall position at this event. But finishing second overall behind Gary [Donoghue] in the [Mitsubishi Lancer] Evo was a fantastic way to underscore a great event for us!”

The Weasel RallySports team has to make some planning decisions in the coming weeks. They don’t currently have any upcoming events scheduled, as driver Chris Greenhouse has set aside more time to be at home with his infant son this year, but they have stated that they will operate a limited rallying schedule this year that will include more events in both the USA and Canada.
