KW suspensions is proud to support a wide range of motorsport disciplines, and in 2014 is hugely excited to launch a new partnership with professional drifter MadMike Whiddett.
The New Zealand-based drifter – who is backed by Red Bull and Mazda Motors – has established himself as one of the world’s most exciting drivers piloting his BADBUL quad-rotor Mazda RX7. Since joining the sport in 2007, MadMike has won multiple championships as well as conquering the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb – a performance that awarded him with the title Most Exciting Driver 2014.
This latest partnership with KW suspensions will see MadMike’s professional drift cars equipped with Competition 3-way Race Dampers – the ultimate suspension solution offered by KW. In addition to the infamous BADBUL RX7, MadMike’s latest project ‘RADBUL’ Mazda MX5 will also receive the KW 3-Way upgrade transforming it into one of the most technically advanced drift cars in the world. Running a 26b quad-rotor, twin-turbocharged Wankel engine RADBUL is expected to produce upwards of 1200bhp to the rear wheels even on low boost!

TECH: KW Competition 3-Way
KW Competition dampers are designed specifically for national and international motorsports, ranging from amateur motorsports such as VLN right through to professional series including the FIA Touring Car Championship. Our 3-way adjustable racing dampers are based on a mono-tube damping construction with a separate adjustable compression reservoir canister allowing for a large range of dampening adjustment. An additional benefit is the freedom to mount the adjustable compression reservoirs away from the dampers allowing easy access for fine-tuning.
