In the 2026 DTM season, KW suspensions is supplying its racing damper technology to four automobile manufacturers. In addition to Aston Martin, BMW, and Porsche, Lamborghini has now also entered the DTM with KW Racing dampers.

Out of the 21 cars on the grid, eleven race cars are equipped with KW suspension systems. “Eleven friends you should be” might be a football saying, but this was DTM racing. As soon as the lights went out, the action intensified to the delight of more than 50,000 motorsport fans.
Race 1: Victory for Thomas Preining in the Manthey Porsche

Starting from third on the grid, “Grello” driver Thomas Preining immediately went on the offensive in the yellow‑green Porsche 911 GT3 R (#91). Within the first meters after the start, he gained one position and slotted in directly behind the pole sitter.

The yellow‑green Porsche, equipped with a KW V6 Racing dampers, had to consistently defend against attacks while temporarily losing contact with the leader.
Thomas Preining made his mandatory pit stop before the leading Mercedes, switching to fresh tires. A few laps later, following the pit stop of the former leader, he took over the lead and secured a commanding victory in Saturday’s race.

Additional KW Racing–equipped cars finished inside the top ten: fifth place for Marco Wittmann (Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo, #11), ninth for Ricardo Feller (Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R, #90), and tenth for Nicki Thiim (Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, #7).

Further KW Racing customers finished Race 1 in the following positions: 12th Mirko Bortolotti (TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3, #63), 14th Bastian Buus (Land Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R, #29), 15th Luca Engstler (Red Bull Team Abt Lamborghini Temerario GT3, #130), 16th Maximilian Paul (TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3, #19), and 17th Marco Mapelli (Red Bull Team Lamborghini Temerario GT3, #10).
The second Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin, driven by Nicolas Baert (#8), retired early from the race.
Race 2: Marco Wittmann’s charge through the field rewarded with second place

Kelvin van der Linde started Race 2 from pole position in the Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#3) and successfully defended the lead at the start.

From ninth on the grid, Marco Wittmann launched his attack in the second Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#11). During the first pit stop window, the experienced DTM driver steadily worked his way forward and eventually advanced into third place.

Misfortune struck Kelvin van der Linde, who, despite leading after the first mandatory pit stop, changed tires relatively early and was overtaken on track.

Running in second and third, the two BMW M4 GT3 Evo cars prepared for the second mandatory pit stop phase, during which Wittmann and van der Linde briefly swapped positions.

All cars must complete their mandatory service within a six‑minute window in the pit lane. Here, the Schubert BMW again suffered bad luck and rejoined the track in ninth position before recovering to finish fourth.

The race victory went to Maro Engel in the Mercedes‑AMG (#80), followed by Marco Wittmann in the Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo (#11).

Nicki Thiim finished fifth in the Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, while Kelvin van der Linde brought the second Schubert BMW (#3) home in sixth place.

The best‑placed Porsche 911 GT3 R was the Land Motorsport entry driven by Bastian Buus (#29) in tenth position.

Ricardo Feller (#90) and Thomas Preining (#91) finished twelfth and thirteenth respectively in their Manthey Porsches.

Other KW Racing customers completed the race in 16th place (Mirko Bortolotti, TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3, #63) and 17th (Nicolas Baert, Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, #8).
The remaining Lamborghini Temerario GT3 entries finished 18th (Luca Engstler, Red Bull Team Abt, #130), 19th (Marco Mapelli, Red Bull Team Abt, #10), and 20th (Maximilian Paul, TGI Team by GRT, #19).

The 2026 season marks the first DTM appearance of the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3.
