Smart idea: Stepless lowering with height adjustable ST springs for Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate (S206)

In the current generation of the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Estate (S206), the longitudinally installed four-cylinder engine familiar from the Mercedes-AMG A 45 provides 408 turbo hp

With the height adjustable springs from ST suspensions, numerous standard suspensions can be extended with the function of a stepless lowering. Now we also offer the height-adjustable ST springs for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate with the original AMG Ride Control suspension.

First of all, we did not develop the ST height-adjustable springs to enable maximum lowering in combination with the stock suspension.

The height adjustable ST springs come with all mounting accessories such as adapted ST bellows and ST elastomer stop elements

Because then the AMG Ride Control suspension would reach its limits. Even the driving dynamics and driving comfort would suffer, as the adaptive standard dampers would be the limiting factor due to their housing length alone.

The longitudinally installed four-cylinder engine mobilizes 408 turbo hp from a displacement of just under two liters

The height-adjustable ST springs for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate allow a lowering of 5 to 25 millimeters on both axles. This adjustment range is also covered by the parts certificate.

In the two pictures above, you can see how the colleagues from development carry out a residual travel check and load far more than the maximum payload into the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic Estate.

When mounting the height adjustable ST springs, ST threaded sleeves are placed on the original AMG Ride Control shock absorbers. These aluminum sleeves, which are milled from solid at KW automotive, have a thread that makes it possible to adjust the spring plate to the desired lowering with millimeter precision.

The height adjustable ST springs on the front axle have been adjusted for a lowering of 25 millimeters

The big advantage of our ST height adjustable springs compared to conventional lowering springs is that the desired lowering can be freely adjusted in an approved area. In the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate, these are the aforementioned 5 to 25 millimeters on both axles.

No threaded sleeves are mounted on the rear axle dampers, but the two spring plates replace the original fasteners on the body

On the multi-link rear axle, on the other hand, the mounting is somewhat different. There, only the standard stop elements on the adaptive dampers are exchanged for the ST elements. As on the front axle, the original Mercedes bearings remain in use.

Also, an ST threaded sleeve is not mounted on any rear axle damper. To adjust the lowering, on the other hand, an adjustable ST spring plate is used on each rear axle. This is mounted on the original attachment point of the standard springs on the body.

The rear axle of the Mercedes-AMG C 46 4matic Estate is lowered by 25 millimeters

To adjust the lowering, on the other hand, an ST coilover spring plate is used on each rear axle. This is mounted on the original attachment point of the standard springs on the body.

In the turbo, there is still a small electric motor between the compressor and turbine wheels, which maintains the boost pressure should the accelerator foot be lifted

Nevertheless, even with a maximum lowering of 25 millimeters, good ride comfort remains in the “Comfort Mode” of the AMG Ride Control suspension. If you’re on the road in the C 43, you’ll usually ride in the sports programs of the adaptive AMG Ride Control suspension, and this is where the ST coilover springs or height-adjustable springs really kick in.

In addition, there is another 14 hp electric starter generator, which is operated via the on-board electrical system and also allows recuperation

Whether in the “Sport” or “Sport+” driving mode, the ST height-adjustable springs unleash the 408 hp Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate, especially in terms of handling. The steering becomes even more direct and the two “sport characteristics” harmonize perfectly with the spring rates.

What is optionally possible with all our ST coilovers is of course also possible with our height-adjustable ST springs. If you like, you can order the springs for your Mercedes-AMG C 43 4matic Estate in one of 18 different surface colors. In addition, the springs can be individually labeled.

On our ST homepage you will always find all parts certificates and installation instructions via the shop

The optional selection of the desired color and the individual nib marking works directly on our shop at www.st-suspensions.net
