The ST height adjustable springs are now available for the third generation of the BMW X5 (F15), which has been produced from 2013 to 2018, and the latest G05 series of the BMW X5 SUV, which is available since 2018.
The new height-adjustable ST spring sets are an attractive alternative for sportier lowering. With their threaded spring perches and threaded sleeves, they extend the functions of a standard chassis with the option of manual, stepless lowering.
Within the scope of the technical parts report, the springs with their threaded sleeves fitted to the standard dampers allow stepless lowering. The adjustment of the height is similar to the retrofitting with a coilover suspension, only that the standard dampers can still be used.
On the BMW X5 (F15) produced from 2013 – 2018, the height-adjustable lowering springs, also known as coil springs, allow an infinitely flexible lowering of 20 – 40 millimeters on the front axle and 20 – 35 millimeters on the rear axle.
Within a few working units, the ST height adjustable springs can be installed by the service technicians at the local tire dealer or in any specialist workshop. If the BMW X5 is equipped ex-works with an optional adaptive damper control system, this will be retained and does not have to be deactivated as is the case when a non-adaptive coilover suspension kit is installed.
The ST springs are also available for the current BMW X5 (G05). Due to the different axle geometry and vehicle weight, the springs have different spring rates and a tested adjustment range for stepless lowering.
On the new BMW X5, available since 2018, an infinitely adjustable lowering of 20 – 35 millimeters on the front axle and 10 – 25 millimeters on the rear axle is possible.
