In January 2025, the new Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo 2 customer sports race car will make its first race appearance as part of the 24 Hours of Daytona in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Back on board are our two-way adjustable KW Racing dampers for the GT4 regulations.
Since introducing the Toyota GR Supra as a GT4 customer sports race car in 2020, we at KW automotive have been involved with our KW engineering and KW dampers. For the 2025 season, the race car will receive a minor update.
It is already the second “Evo package” for the Toyota GR Supra GT4, which competes in various championships on three continents. For example, our colleague and SimRacer Tim Heinemann, who works in KW Rennsport Sales, became champion in the DTM Trophy in a Toyota GR Supra GT4.
For the second “Evo model” of the Toyota GR Supra GT4, the update focuses on various points, such as revised cooling systems for the powertrain (engine and power transmission) and the six- and four-piston brake system.
Toyota Gazoo Racing also upgraded ventilation and cooling in the cockpit, as the race car is used worldwide. Also new are adapted maps for the ABS control unit and shorter shift times when downshifting the ZF automatic transmission.
The Toyota GR Supra GT4 is one of the Japanese car manufacturer’s most successful customer sports race cars. For this reason, Toyota has already launched special models of the road version for various markets. For example, there was the “GR Supra 100th Edition Tribute” for Europe, the “Toyota GR Supra RZ Plasma Orange 100 Edition” in Japan, and the “GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition” in the United States.
For the road versions of the Toyota GR Supra, we already have various KW coilovers, such as the semi-active KW DDC plug-and-play coilover, the KW V1 coilover, the KW V3 coilover suspension, and our two KW Clubsport coilovers: KW V3 Clubsport and KW V4 Clubsport.
All information about the KW coilovers can be found directly on our homepage, www.kwsuspensions.net
