KW DDC plug&play and KW DDC ECU is the way to get low

More driving comfort or more driving dynamics at the touch of a button is provided by the adaptive KW DDC plug&play coilovers.

Since 2011, the suspension manufacturer has been developing the adaptive coilover suspension kits which, make damping more comfortable or firmer within milliseconds thanks to electronic damper valves which are compatible with different suspension control systems from the automotive industry.

With the uncomplicated installation of the KW DDC plug&play coilover kit, the original damper control does not have to be deactivated like when retrofitting sport suspension.

The KW DDC plug is simply connected to the original connection and the on-board electronics immediately recognize the coilover suspension from KW.

The adaptive KW coilovers are available for many current models like the BMW 1-series, BMW 2-series, BMW 3-series, BMW 4-series, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW M3 (F80), BMW M4 (F82, F83), Ford Focus III RS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204), Mercedes-Benz E-Class (207) …

… Seat Ateca (5FP), Seat Leon (5F), Skoda Kodiaq (NS), Skoda Octavia (5E), Skoda Superb III (3T, model year 2016), VW Bus T6, VW Golf VI, VW Golf VII, VW Passat (B6, B7, B8, 3C, 3CC), VW Scirocco (13) and VW Tiguan II (5N).

KW also develops adaptive coilovers for cars without electronic dampers

An interesting feature of the adaptive KW DDC technology is the possibility to retrofit an adaptive coilover suspension into an automobile that does not have adaptive dampers from factory.

For example, the KW DDC ECU coilover kit is available for BMW 1M Coupé (E82), BMW M2 (F87), Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (204, including Black Series models), Mercedes-Benz G-Class (including G43 AMG), Range Rover Evoque (LV), which are not available from factory with electronically adjustable dampers.

The KW DDC ECU coilover suspension is also interesting for many used car buyers, if the previous owner did not order the optional damper control when buying the new car.

The ECU stands for ‘Electronic Control Unit and in addition to the adaptive dampers or struts, we deliver this suspension including suspension control unit and vehicle-specific suspension harness exclusively to our KW Performance-Plus-Partners, who have been specifically trained for a professional installation of adaptive suspensions and also take care of the sales.

KW DDC ECU Coilovers in detail

The scope of delivery of the KW DDC ECU coilover kit includes the KW DDC button, which at the push of the button switches within milliseconds between our recommended damping characteristics Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

This allows you to switch between the different modes at any time and create a completely new driving experience every time. In the KW mode Sport+, the KW dampers give every vehicle a direct and unadulterated driving behavior, a setup that is ideal for demanding trips on winding roads with lots of load changes.

The mode Sport on the other hand, is perfect for highway driving with long corner; while the Comfort-mode is the ideal travel companion on poorly developed country roads and in city traffic. In Comfort-mode, the KW dampers not only operate with a comfort-oriented identification, but our suspension control unit automatically adapts the damper characteristics to the driving speed.

Maximum usability due to KW DDC App

Optionally, the KW DDC ECU coilover kit can be extended with a WLAN box. This makes it possible to adjust the dampers of the stainless KW coilover suspension in real time by smartphone App (compatible with iOS and Android) in their damper characteristics individually on load conditions, driving preferences or on the mounted alloy wheels.

Depending on the setting, the vehicle reacts firmer or more comfortable. With the KW DDC App, the adaptive dampers of the KW DDC ECU coilover kit can be adjusted continuously in their damper setting from the maximum “Comfort”-identifier with a very soft damping up to the Sport+ damper setup.

The KW DDC App has a vehicle-specifically safety-relevant control range. The five available memory spaces also allow to save various damper setups for different routes and afterwards share them with friends via E-mail.

The KW DDC ECU is available, for example, for Aston Martin V8 Vantage (VH2), Audi A3 (8P, 8V including S3 and RS3), Audi A4 and A5 (B8, B81, including S4, S5, RS5), Audi A6 (4G, 4G1), Audi RS Q3 (8U), Audi Q5, Audi SQ5 (8R, 8R1), Audi TT, Audi TT S and Audi TT RS (8J, including model year 2015 or FV), BMW 1-series (E81, E87, E82 , E88), BMW 2-series (F22, F23), BMW 3-series (E90, E91, E92, E93, including M3, F30, F31, F34), BMW 5-series (F10, F11), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204, 204K, 204AMG, 204KAMG, W205), Mercedes-Benz G-Class (463), Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG (172), Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (197), Porsche 911 (997), Porsche 911 (991), Porsche Cayenne (92A), Seat Leon (1P), Seat Leon (5F), Skoda Octavia (5E), Tesla Model S (002), VW Beetle (16), VW Golf V (Golf Plus, Cross Golf, Golf Estate, 1K, 1KP, 1KM), VW Golf VI (1K), VW Golf VII (AU), VW Passat (B6, B7), VW Passat CC (3CC) and VW Scirocco.
