At the end of September 2022, Ford finally launched the so-called Track Pack with an additional adjustable coilover kit for their Ford Focus ST. The best thing about the release is the fact that the coilovers are from KW automotive and are adjustable in compression and rebound.

Anyone who buys the latest Ford Focus ST in Belgium, Germany, Finland, France, Swiss, Greece, the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, or Hungary is now able to order the optional Track Pack.

The optional Ford Track Pack includes 19-inch light-alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires, a Brembo brake system with 363-millimeter brake discs at the front, Ford Performance seats, adjustable Ford Performance sport coilovers and one or the other styling element which makes the Ford Focus ST a little more “ST”.

Interesting upgrade: With the bright “Performance Blue” springs the Ford Performance coilovers are a fixed component of the new “Track Pack”. The coilover kit lowers the Focus ST in a decent way. This leads to a lower emphasis which is beneficial for the driving dynamics.

When a little more lowering is desired, the Ford with a Performance coilover kit can be lowered 15 millimeters more.

When a little extra lowering is desired, the Ford with a Performance coilover kit can be lowered 15 millimeters more. But the coilovers, which we developed together with Ford, can do even more.

We adjusted the spring rates and damper forces specifically to the wheel loads of the Ford Focus ST with its Track Pack alloy wheels, Pirelli sports tires, and a large Brembo brake system. Ford’s development department also specified that the Focus ST with the Ford Performance coilover suspension should cut a good figure on racetracks as well as in everyday use, for example on country roads and the highway.

Twelve clicks in the compression and 16 clicks in the rebound help to fine-tune the dampers. This is also a feature of our popular KW V3 coilovers. Nevertheless, the Ford Performance coilover kit neither is a KW V3 clubsport or a KW V3 Racing nor a KW V3 or KW V3 Leveling coilover kit.

The Ford Performance coilover kit differs from the conventional coilover kits. In some ways, it is located between the KW V3 coilover suspension from the Street Performance program and our KW V3 Clubsport coilover suspension from the Track Performance category in terms of driving dynamics and performance. Whether the Ford Performance coilover suspension will be offered as an aftermarket option for other Ford Focus models is yet to be seen.

Christian Gebhardt tested the Ford Fiesta ST Edition with semi-slicks at the Hockenheim GP course and the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The measured lap times of the 200 HP car were 2.06,70 minutes at the GP course and 8.22,34 minutes at the Nordschleife (sportscar round with 20,6 track length)! The good news are: The coilover kit once only obtainable for the Ford Fiesta ST Edition is now officially available for all common Fiesta ST models direct at Ford.
