Whether at Spa-Francorchamps, IMSA in Laguna Seca, Portimao, or the Tuning World Bodensee, all organizers welcomed numerous spectators.
At our more or less home game at the Tuning World Bodensee, we were at the epicenter of the tuning scene with our suspension brands ap Sportfahrwerke, KW suspensions, and ST suspensions.
Over the four days of the Friedrichshafen consumer show Tuning World Bodensee 2024 over 100,000 visitors came to the exhibition. In total 109,500 tuning enthusiasts were there!
At the BBS and KW stand, we presented four strong project vehicles, including the beautiful BMW M2 with KW V3 coilover suspension from our long-standing partner Extreme Customs.
For the electrified Audi e-tron GT (FW), we showed not only BBS alloy wheels in Friedrichshafen but also the prototype of the suspension application.
We don’t know precisely when the KW V4 coilover suspension kit for the “upper-class sports car” with up to 475 kW of power will be available. We’ll have more on this soon.
Since we presented the KW V5 or KW Variant 5 coilover suspension at the Essen Motor Show 2019, we have been increasingly developing our coilover suspensions based on the Solid Piston technology used in the V5.
We have already been using this suspension technology in selected applications such as the KW V5 Clubsport coilover suspension, KW V5 Klassik coilover suspensions, KW V5 coilover suspension, as well as in selected KW DDC coilover suspensions with two electromagnetic proportional valves, and our KW V5 Racing suspension kits.
Our “demo car” in Friedrichshafen was a Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, for which we now also have the KW V5 coilover suspension with parts certificate in our delivery program.
Speaking of parts certificates, especially for fans of the classic Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), we now have our KW Klassik coilover suspensions with parts certificates. Since the R34 was never officially sold in Germany and was here in the home of cars, only a “grey import”, we had neither a parts certificate for the KW V3 coilover suspension nor the Clubsport suspensions. This has not been the case since the Tuning World Bodensee 2024.
A VW Golf 1 GTI was also classic at our stand; after all, the Golf 1 will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2024 and is thus five years older than our brand ST suspensions.
In 2024, our ST suspensions brand is a partner of the new AvD Drift Championship, and this championship, which is held exclusively in Germany, had its official championship run on the event grounds of the car show.
For this reason, we also presented the BMW M4 of the “Red Bull Drift Brothers” in drift spec at the ST suspensions stand. Depending on the setup, the G82 has over 1,000 hp and is used in various championships with a drift spec based on a KW racing suspension.
At the ap Sportfahrwerke booth, we celebrated the tuning community with the Honda CRX with a widebody kit, refined to the last detail. The CRX, lowered to the asphalt with an ap coilover suspension kit, is the work of Honda enthusiast Jaro Mares.
Sim racer Adam Pinczes from Team Brabham Motorsport won the Tuning World Bodensee Community Cup 2024. Marko Pešić from Veloce Esports came second, and Julian Kunze from Needracing.com came third. Congratulations.
Full house and double victory in Spa-Francorchamps at the third round of the FIA WEC 2024!
While the Friedrichshafen car show was already pleased with so many visitors, a new visitor record was also set at the six-hour race of the FIA WEC in Spa-Francorchamps. For the first time in a championship race, the FIA was able to count 88,180 spectators (without the 24-hour race Le Mans) at the track!
In this championship, we are equipping a sports car in the Hypercar class for the first time. The Lamborghini SC63 (#63) entered by Lamborghini Iron Lynx unfortunately retired on lap 59.
Also, through no fault of their own, the two BMW M4 GT3s (#31 and #46) from Team WRT, which started in the LMGT3 class, retired. The Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, entered by D’Station Racing (#777) and Heart of Racing (#27), on the other hand, saw the finish line and finished in seventh and eleventh place in their LMGT3 class. This corresponds to 22nd and 26th place overall!
Porsche customers, on the other hand, have a real reason to celebrate in the FIA WEC. Porsche is celebrating a double victory not only in the overall standings but also in the LMGT3.
The two Porsche 911 GT3 R (#91 and #92) from Manthey EMA and Manthey Purerxcing finished first and second in their class. Chapeau!
Porsche GT3-R double victory also at the Hankook 24h Series in Portimão
For Porsche motorsport customers, things went brilliantly throughout the motorsport weekend. After all, Herberth Motorsport also celebrated a double victory at the 24h race in Portimão as part of the Hankook 24h Series.
While the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#92) finished first after 743 laps, the second Herberth Motorsport Porsche finished second in Portugal with a two-lap deficit.
IMSA: One class victory and a total of three podiums for KW GT3 customers
IMSA was a guest at the Laguna Seca Raceway in California, and our motorsport customers were also able to celebrate victories there.
AO Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 R (#77) won the fiercely contested GTDPro class.
The BMW M4 GT3 (#557) from Turner Motorsport and the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#120) from Wright Motorsports finished second and third in the GTD class.
Successful motorsport weekend also in Thailand
Numerous GT3 customer sports teams compete in the GT World Challenge Asia presented by KW, and we also equip all Aston Martin AMR Vantage GT3 Evo, BMW M4 GT3, and Porsche 911 GT3 R with our KW V6 Racing dampers.
Our customers finished in the top 10 in the first race on the Chang International Circuit in positions four (#1, Absolute Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), five (#87, Origine Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), and six (#911, Absolute Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), the second race was more successful.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R from Origine Motorsport (#4) won the Sunday race after 37 laps.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R (#1) from Absolute Racing also finished on the podium, while the second Origine Motorsport Porsche (#87) finished fourth.
Further, the top 10 places for our GT3 motorsport customers were sixth place for the second Absolute Racing Porsche (#911). Seventh place went to the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#93) from AAS Phantom Global Racing. The BMW M4 GT3 (#89) from Team KRC finished tenth.
Within the GT World Challenge Asia, 14 race cars use our KW V6 Racing dampers.
