The SUV boom, regardless of the segment, whether in the compact, mid-range, or luxury class, continues unabated, with 80 new models released and well-received in the European market in 2023 alone. In Europe, according to various media reports, every second new car was an SUV. So it is logical that we have a coilover suspension for various models in our product range. For the facelift model of the VW Touareg III, which has only been available since May 2024, the KW V3 coilover suspension is now available.
Many people purchase height-adjustable coilover springs and coilovers for their SUVs to achieve a good-looking stance. What sounds a little surprising at first is a popular trend in our industry, just like stylish wheel-tire combinations.
In the VW Touareg III, a stepless lowering of 30millimetersimetres can be set on the front and rear axles. But beware the KW V3 coilover suspension is only available for the current VW Touareg III models, which do not have an optional suspension with air suspension.

On both sides of the VW, 22-inch BBS CC-R Unlimited tires with 275/35 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires were placed to show how well the lowering works in combination with large alloy wheels.
If you retrofit the KW V3 coilover suspension into your VW Touareg III, you will benefit from much more than the rich look of the lowering. Compared to lowering only with a spring set, it goes lower with a KW coilover suspension and also improves road holding. In general, the steering response and overall handling are more precise than the standard suspension.

Even in slow comfort at speeds of up to 60 km/h, our KW multi-valve dampers ensure increased rolling comfort. In addition, the KW V3 coilover suspension ensures a significant increase in cornering stability even at high speeds. The tendency of the body to roll is reduced due to the better support when cornering.
If the Touareg is driven quickly over a small bump or a transverse joint on the motorway, the so-called high-speed valves in the damper open thanks to the multi-valve technology in the KW V3 coilover suspension. This means that bumps in the road are well-absorbed and cause minimal disturbance to the body.
The suspension also smoothly absorbs transverse joints. Thanks to the dampers, which can be adjusted independently in compression and rebound, the preset setting can be changed to a sportier or more comfortable tuning.

Our KW V3 coilovers offer independent adjustment of compression and rebound damping, allowing for more precise tuning compared to the more straightforward parallel adjustment.
With 16 precise clicks, the low-speed rebound forces can be adjusted for firmer handling or more comfort. The low-speed compression damping, which can be adjusted with twelve clicks, allows the turn-in behavior, as well as other parameters, such as rolling comfort and tire grip, to be fine-tuned in the setup.
