That visions can be turned into reality is well documented. Even we from KW automotive are ultimately the result of a vision and courageous entrepreneurship!
The billionaire James Glickenhaus (man with cowboy hat) collects cars and prefers historical winning cars. Already in 2011 he fulfilled his dream with his P4/P5 by Pininfarina based on a Ferrari and he sent a car to the starting field of the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring.
In 2015 Glickenhaus returned to the Green Hell! In the VLN and the 24h Race as well as at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood, the SCG 003 “Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus” race cars were the topic people were talking about!
His new prototype sports cars SCG 003 Competizione right away set an unofficial record on the Nordschleife!
In only 6:42 minutes and with reduced performance and extra weights, the car with its approximately 530-hp strong 3,5-liter-V6-Honda-Biturbo left an impression that caused amazement.
But even at the “Sport auto” track test on the “small course” in Hockenheim, the SCG with its LMP-concept showed as a GT car that it can easily drive through the course with 217 km/h! Thanks to sophisticated aerodynamics and KW Competition suspension technology this is no problem! According to Christian Gebhardt from sport auto, other race cars with Nordschleife adjustment seemed way too soft on the small course.
As already the P4/P5, also the new Glickenhaus is equipped with a KW Competition racing suspension. And in 2015 even two of the “Italo-Honda” were on the track.
The madness that is VLN Qualifying at VLN1 (2016) in SCG003c, Driver POV from the helmet of Jeff Westphal. This single lap was P2 at the time it was run midway through the session.
And to make your hearts beat faster; in addition to the strong images of Hide Ishirua (www.studiozero.de) we have also found an interview with James Glickenhaus and his race car collection on YouTube. Have fun!
