We have now developed the KW V3 coilover suspension for the Nio ET5

An increasing number of electric cars from Chinese manufacturers are entering the European market and, by 2025, North America. Therefore, it is no surprise that we have added the KW V3 coilover suspension kit to our delivery program for the current Nio ET5 EV sedan. This addition caters to the growing demand for sporty automotive accessories among enthusiasts within the electric car community.

Several of our KW installation partners, including Customkingz Performance GmbH ( and JÜRS (, have expanded their offerings to include electric vehicles. Additionally, the first KW specialist dealers already focus exclusively on electric cars.

As the technical parts report outlines, the KW coilover suspension kit allows an approved continuous lowering of the Nio ET5 sedan by 20 to 45 millimeters on both driven axles.

In developing our KW coilover suspension kits, we always ensure that kits from our Street Performance series, such as the KW V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, and DDC, deliver a significant increase in driving pleasure while consistently guaranteeing safety, driving dynamics, and comfort.

Anyone opting for a coilover suspension nowadays typically prefers to avoid extensive modifications, such as widening fenders or altering the inner wheel arch liner. Our KW suspensions from the Street Performance program come with a parts certificate, allowing maximum, stepless lowering without significant car modifications.

As is customary with the KW V3 coilovers, the compression and rebound damping can be adjusted separately to achieve a more comfortable or firmer ride. Fine-tuning options include twelve clicks for compression and sixteen clicks for rebound.

Because the spring strut clamps on the front axle of the Nio ET5, reaching the compression adjustment wheel with your fingers is no longer feasible; that’s why, in this case, the compression stage is adjusted using an Allen key.

We utilize various adjustment options for setting the compression stage or compression damping depending on the technical circumstances. Therefore, our KW Tool Box always includes an Allen key alongside the well-known hook wrench and the purple adjustment wheels.

Even those who don’t adjust any knobs to fine-tune the damper setup will still appreciate the renowned design of the KW V3 suspension. The KW coilover suspension in the ET5 guarantees a driving experience that is both appropriately firm and comfortable. Ultimately, the chassis is central to establishing a connection with the road and enhancing handling.

The dampers and springs influence how quickly the wheels deflect and rebound, ensuring that the tires maintain maximum contact with the road during everyday driving. Additionally, the chassis significantly affects the comfort of the ride for occupants.

The compression level is always a crucial factor when discussing compression. Higher compression levels decrease body roll during braking and cornering, thereby enhancing the stability of the Nio ET5. Conversely, a lower compression setting ensures a more comfortable driving experience but may result in increased body roll in corners.

The significant advantage of the KW V3 coilover suspension kit lies in its incorporation of adjustable low-speed valves alongside pre-tuned and non-adjustable high-speed valves for compression and rebound damping. This design ensures that the V3 coilover suspension kit maintains a harmonious compression on poorly developed secondary routes with numerous transverse joints and bumps, even with tightly adjusted damping.

During the rebound phase, the suspension damping controls the rate at which the chassis spring recovers from compression. This directly influences both body control and handling characteristics. While a higher rebound setting enhances handling precision, it may come at the expense of ride comfort.
